With 15 years’ experience in the Mining industry, Alexander is a highly accomplished mining professional with a comprehensive background in open-pit mining across various commodities. Proven track record in leadership roles, with experience in green-fields operations to full-scale production.

Recognized for expertise in strategic mine planning, mining studies, scheduling, design, and operational optimisation. Committed to fostering a safety-driven culture and maximizing the potential of mining projects and personnel.

Alexander started his career in project management and mining consulting with SRK Australia. After 18 months developing his technical and project skills, Alexander moved to Roy Hill Iron Ore. Initially working in the mine planning department based in the Roy Hill head office, once project funding was secured Alexander switched to site-based work as the Senior Mining Engineer, establishing mine operation systems, managing mining contractors and mentoring

the production and drill & blast engineers on site.

From Roy Hill, Alexander moved to Billabong Gold’s green-field Hermes project as alternate Mine Manager. Once again utilising technical skills to develop the open pit procedures, optimizing the mine plan, managing the mining contractor and displaying leadership skills as Quarry Manager and mentoring contractor and client personnel. Alexander has used these same skills within lithium and gold mining operations. Alexander’s latest role on-site was as Mine Manager with Calidus Resources at the Warrawoona Gold Project.

Mine & Contract Management skills including engineering expertise, negotiation, contract

development and risk management. Knowledge and experience in cost management, budgeting and forecasting as well as regulatory compliance exposure. Demonstrated project management skills in timeline and resource management, as well as investigating and implementing new technologies and maintaining stakeholder engagement.

Mine Optimisation & Studies completed across a wide range of commodities and scale of operations. Developed cost models to accurately produce economic pit shells that form the basis of feasibility studies to assess the economic validity of projects, then completed studies

to determine the overall project validity.

Mine Planning & Design skills that have been developed over different commodities and organisations. Applying geological, geotechnical and operational “best practice” understanding to allow for the efficient and effective extraction of material. Implemented mine operating systems and management to ensure continuous improvement and validation of different planning horizons. Completed pit designs from life of mine initial designs to tactical operational designs, dump designs and final landform designs, tailings damns and road networks as well as other site infrastructure.

Operational Efficiency & Tactical Scheduling built with over a decade of strategic, tactical and operational experience. Managing of mine planning engineers to develop life of mine schedules, to execution teams based on-site to achieve short term targets that are in line with the projects long term goals. Reviewed and developed procedures and processes on site that utilize lean & six-sigma tools to eliminate waste and drive a customer focused approach to mine operations.

Alexander helps leaders drive change within their business by providing project management and change management support to ensure stakeholder  engagement throughout the process and successful implementation of the solution. His approachable nature encourages open and transparent communication throughout the project.
